| Bethesda
is a little village on the banks of the Ogwen River about 5
miles from Bangor up towards the mountains surrounding Snowdonia
there is about 5 miles of the Ogwen River that you can fish
the natural fly life is abundant on the river. The river fish
are wild brown trout, salmon and sea trout there is some very
good fishing along the river. Flies to use are traditional dark
welsh flies coupled with light spiders. Season starts 20th of
march till the 17th of October.
Ogwen Lake
The Ogwen Lake is about 5 miles out of Bethesda
up towards Betws y Coed right up in the mountains of Snowdonia,
the lake is stocked with rainbow trout also wild brown trout
fishery records last season 15pound rainbow trout the fishing
is good all season and the flies to use are traditional dark
welsh flies coupled with light spiders the natural fly life
is abundant all around the lake and there is plenty of space
to park your car. Also W.C. and shop boat hire available
Other Lakes to fish
Lake Idwal about half a miles walk from Ogwen
lake up quite a steep slope its situated in a nice spot high
up in the mountains with great scenery the lake has wild brown
trout and fishes well in the summer natural fly life is abundant
flies to use traditional dark welsh flies coupled with light
spiders
Bochlwyd is another lake you can fish at high up in the mountains
with wild brown trout the natural fly life is abundant here
to and it is situated in a natural place of beauty with great
views of all the surrounding mountains
Ffynnon Lloer is yet another lake that you can visit that’s
high up in the mountains with some good fishing and fantastic
views the fish are wild brown trout the natural fly life is
abundant

Are the blue dun , coch y bonddu , diawl bach , black gnat
, the butcher , black Zulu , black and peacock spider , wickhams
spider claret , alder , teal and green , blue quill , march
brown , wickhams fancy , olive dun , pheasants tail , red
tag , knotted midge , black spider and a multitude of other
flies
